Hear David Kester, former head of Britain’s Design Council, talk about the power of design to transform communities and public services.
Good design provides human-centred solutions to hard-to-solve problems. In the United Kingdom, design-led projects have reduced violence and aggression in hospital A&E departments, made built environments safer and easier to live in, reduced the level of infection in hospitals, and improved water use. So is design the cure-all for the challenges of the 21st century?
David's trip to New Zealand is supported by Massey University's College of Creative Arts, the British Council, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, AUT School of Art and Design, and the Designers Institute of New Zealand.
